In the beginning, there was the Fool; and the Major Arcana plays out the rest of his tale. “The Fool’s Journey” is a fascinating and important concept for both beginners and tarot pros alike. Come along with me as I revisit this journey through 22 cards from 22 different decks.
The World: Coming Full Circle
At the end of the Fool‘s journey, he applies all the lessons he has learned and finds a sense of fulfillment as he reintegrates himself with the World. With everything he has gone through and achieved, he finally feels a sense of wholeness. The Fool has completed this particular journey, but that doesn’t mean it’s the end of his story — new chapters are always waiting to unfold, and all he has to do is start again.

The World card in the Dark Wood Tarot by Sasha Graham and Abigail Larson shows a witch rising up and completely owning her power, surrounded by her loyal animal companions. What makes this more meaningful is that it’s the exact same witch and animals depicted in the same deck’s Fool card, but here we see how much wiser, more mature, and more powerful she has become upon completing her journey.
