The Wicked Tarot Looks Wonderful!

  • by

I just found out that Insight Editions released a Wicked Tarot deck and it’s looking pretty neat!

Here are the previews posted on Insight Editions’ official page:

The colors are looking absolutely stunning, and I adore Cinthya Álvarez’ storybook art style! I usually dislike cards with huge borders, but I’m really not mad at these because they look amazing and tie in well with the cards’ visuals.

The deck renamed the minor arcana suits to align better with the Wicked theme:

  • Swords Yellow Brick Road
  • CupsFlowers
  • Wands → Brooms
  • Pentacles → Coins

This may be a bit confusing for beginners, but even the guidebook seems well thought out! Check out the way Casey Gilly describes The Magician in this preview page posted by the Nerdist (check out the rest in their post):

I don’t have a copy of this deck, but based on what I’ve seen so far, it’s very well done and thoughtfully made! You can check out this nice review and flip-through by The Hermit’s Cave on YouTube:
